Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge says he would welcome a return to Juventus, believing he is now better prepared for European football after an injury-disrupted spell in Turin.

In an interview with Cronache di Spogliatoio, the Cruzeiro striker reflected on a difficult period after joining Juventus in 2021 as a teenager. He made limited appearances for the senior side before a serious knee injury disrupted his development and kept him out for an extended period.

“In five months at Juventus, I played less than I expected. I hoped to get at least 20 minutes in a match from time to time, especially because I always trained at full intensity during the week and scored in friendly games,” Kaio Jorge said.

He acknowledged that the injury played a major role in how his time in Italy unfolded. The forward had arrived with expectations after emerging at Santos, but he was unable to build the momentum needed to secure a regular place in the first team.

Despite that disappointment, he has retained a strong attachment to the club and believes he would approach a return with greater maturity.

“Now I would be ready to return to Italy, and perhaps to Juventus in particular. Today I would do much better. I remain very attached to the club, which helped me through the difficult period of my injury and believed in me, allowing me to fulfil my dream of playing in Europe.”

Kaio Jorge also recalled discussions before his move to Turin, saying he had spoken with then-Juventus figures Massimiliano Allegri and Pavel Nedvěd, who expressed their desire to see him join the club.

His ambition to play in Italy again has not faded, and he believes his experience has prepared him better for the demands of European football.

“Yes, I would like to return to Juventus. I dream of playing in Italy again. I already know the language and I like Italian football. When I arrived, I was still very young.”

The striker has rebuilt his career at Cruzeiro after leaving Juventus, finding a more consistent role in Brazil. His progress has renewed interest in what he might achieve abroad, but his comments amount to a personal ambition rather than confirmation of any negotiations.

Juventus retain a reported 30 per cent sell-on clause from his subsequent transfer, meaning the club could still have a financial interest in his future. Whether that connection leads to a reunion remains uncertain.

For now, Kaio Jorge’s message is clear: he believes the player who struggled to make an impact in Turin is no longer the same young forward who arrived five years ago.
