Coventry City have identified Porto left-back Francisco Moura as a target ahead of their Premier League return, with the Portuguese champions open to selling the 26-year-old if a suitable offer arrives.

Moura's future at Porto is far from guaranteed heading into next season, with the Portuguese champions looking to strengthen the left-back position, a situation that could affect both Moura and team-mate Zaidu.

Newly-promoted Premier League club Coventry City have identified the 26-year-old as one of their preferred options to fill that role, according to Sky Italia journalist Gianluigi Longari.

Moura, who previously played for Famalicao, was the subject of interest from Atalanta last summer but ultimately stayed at Porto under head coach Francesco Farioli.

The defender made 32 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists, though he saw his role diminish somewhat in the second half of the campaign.

Moura is under contract with Porto until 2029, but the club could be open to negotiating his departure should a sufficiently attractive offer arrive for their coffers.

Coventry, who won the Championship title this season, are working to add Premier League-ready experience to their squad as they prepare for life in the top flight, with Moura's combination of Primeira Liga pedigree and defensive solidity fitting the profile the newly-promoted club appears to be targeting at left-back.

Moura was part of the Porto squad that won the Portuguese title this season, giving him recent experience of winning silverware at the highest level of his domestic league, a factor that could appeal to Coventry as they look to bring in players capable of adjusting quickly to a more demanding standard of competition.

Whether Porto are willing to let the defender leave will likely depend on the size of any offer received, with the club having already shown a willingness to do business on the position last summer when Atalanta's interest first emerged, only for that move to fail to materialise.
