Chelsea are reportedly considering a January move for Como defender Jacobo Ramón after being impressed by the 21-year-old’s performances in Italy.

The centre-back has attracted attention following his progress since leaving Real Madrid for Como in the summer of 2025. He has established himself as an important player for Cesc Fàbregas’ side, helping the club secure qualification for the Champions League last season.

Ramón’s performances have now brought him onto the radar of several Premier League clubs, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all reported to be monitoring his situation.

Chelsea’s interest is particularly notable because Ramón previously worked under their current manager, Xabi Alonso, during the Spaniard’s time coaching in Real Madrid’s youth system.

The defender also made an impression in Como’s recent Champions League victory over Manchester United, further raising his profile in England.

However, any attempt to negotiate a deal could be complicated by Real Madrid’s contractual position following his departure. The Spanish club are understood to retain a 50 per cent sell-on clause, while reports also indicate that they have a buy-back option.

The precise terms of that buy-back clause have not been specified in the reports linking Ramón with Chelsea, leaving uncertainty over the conditions under which Real Madrid could bring him back to the Bernabéu.

Real Madrid’s continued interest would represent a significant obstacle for any rival club hoping to secure the defender’s services. The LaLiga side have retained a financial stake in his future and could have the opportunity to intervene if his value continues to rise.

For Chelsea, Ramón would offer a young defensive option with experience in both Spanish football and Serie A. His development at Como has strengthened his reputation, while his previous connection with Alonso could be a factor in the club’s reported interest.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also being linked with the Spain Under-21 international, suggesting that Como could face growing attention as the next transfer window approaches.
