Pedro Porro has admitted he would welcome a return to Spanish football but insists there has been no concrete interest from Real Madrid or Barcelona as speculation over his Tottenham future continues.

The right-back discussed the links with the two LaLiga giants during an appearance on Cadena SER’s El Larguero, while making clear that he remains conscious of his obligations to Tottenham.

“It would be very inappropriate to talk about anything other than my own club, especially because I have a contract. The respect they have shown me is mutual. I have always said that I would like to return to Spain; it is my country and I would be very happy to go back,” Porro said.

The 27-year-old joined Spurs from Sporting CP in 2023, initially on loan, and has become an important member of the team. He has recorded 13 goals and 26 assists in 157 appearances for the north London club.

Porro signed a new contract before the World Cup, extending his deal until 2031. Despite that commitment, reports have repeatedly linked him with a possible move to Spain, particularly to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He explained that completing his contract negotiations before the tournament allowed him to focus on the national team.

“I finished the contract negotiations with Tottenham before the World Cup to have a bit of peace of mind. There is interest, people get in touch to ask about my situation, but nothing concrete. In any case, I do not want to listen,” he said.

Porro also addressed whether his style would suit either Spanish club, stressing that he believes he can adapt to different systems.

“I see myself as a player who can adapt to anything. I have adapted to the Premier League, which is no easy achievement. I can adapt to any situation,” he said.

He also suggested Tottenham would demand a significant fee if another club made a serious approach, reflecting the value they place on him.

“Would Tottenham want a lot of money for me? Probably, because they see me as one of the best. In the end, it is like everything else. The best costs more,” Porro said.

Tottenham have improved after a difficult start to the season and enter the weekend following consecutive victories. Porro’s comments indicate that, while a return to Spain remains an ambition, he is not pushing for an immediate departure and says no concrete approach has been made.
