Casemiro broke down in tears thanking Manchester United fans for four "unbelievable" years, with his wife Anna also emotional, as he prepares for an Inter Miami move blocked by an MLS rights dispute.

Casemiro has bid an emotional farewell to Manchester United, breaking down in tears during a club documentary as he thanked supporters for four years he described as "unbelievable."

The Brazilian midfielder, who leaves Old Trafford when his contract expires this month, was joined by his wife Anna for the documentary, which featured tributes from Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and Matheus Cunha before the couple sat for separate interviews.

"I need to say thank you because it was four unbelievable years," Casemiro said. "I love this club, the fans, the people. Thank you so much."

He signed off with a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford in May, substituted to a standing ovation from supporters whose chants of 'one more year' had become a regular soundtrack at the stadium.

"It's very special and emotional for me. I finish in this moment, but it's very emotional."

Anna Casemiro was equally emotional about their time in Manchester.

"As a family, we talked a lot and had to make this difficult decision. But I think it feels like the end of a very beautiful chapter. I think everything about this moment has been beautiful, right? His chant feels like a declaration of love for him. For us, there's an emptiness in leaving. The love we are receiving through that song means so much."

The 34-year-old made 111 appearances for United, scoring 15 goals, and was part of the side that won the FA Cup and EFL Cup during his four seasons at the club.

His next destination is expected to be Inter Miami. Casemiro has agreed a two-year contract with the option for a third year at David Beckham's MLS franchise, though the deal hinges on resolving a discovery rights dispute.

LA Galaxy, who registered interest in Casemiro first, are reportedly demanding ยฃ750,000 to transfer those rights โ€” a standard MLS mechanism that gives the first club to register a player priority to negotiate with them.

Casemiro visited Miami with his family and chose Inter over Galaxy, drawn by the opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi. The two clubs must now agree compensation before the move can be finalised.
