Alvaro Carreras scored Real Madrid's second goal and drew the foul that led to Kylian Mbappe's opening penalty in Saturday's 4-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, and the left-back credited his side's intensity from the first whistle for setting the tone at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Above all, the intensity from the first minute. We went out together and with the desire to show that we're at home and that we're a team. We went out with that mentality and we did it," Carreras told RMTV.
Asked about his own contribution, he added: "It was a great performance from the team, but I'm happy with the goal. Kylian played it back to me in the area and I finished from there."
Asked what Jose Mourinho demands from him and fellow full-back Marc Cucurella, Carreras pointed to the physical toll of the role.
"The boss wants demands to be met. It's difficult to sustain 100% intensity for 90 minutes. He brought on Cucurella to help me defensively in the final minutes," he said.
With Madrid having now scored 14 goals in four matches at the Bernabeu this season, Carreras said the team's attacking mentality was unwavering.
"We have our minds set on clear objectives. We want to go out and win every match going forward, pressing and finishing chances," he said.
Bernardo Silva, in his sixth appearance since joining the club, echoed his teammate's satisfaction with the result and the atmosphere generated by the home support.
"We're very happy because the three points are the most important thing. Very pleased, especially with the first half. Now it's about preparing for the next one, which is already very close," Silva said.
Asked about Madrid's remarkable scoring record at home this season, he added: "There's no doubt about the offensive strength and the goalscoring ability of this team, especially at the Bernabeu with our fans. We've been able to create and generate a lot of danger."
Silva, still adapting to a new league and a new double-pivot role, described his early months at the club as a gradual process of integration.
"A new experience, still trying to get to know my teammates and the way we play, where I can improve to help the team, and adapting. Very happy. Except in Sevilla, the team has been very good in every match," Silva said.
Asked what Mourinho specifically asks of him in midfield, he explained: "Mainly, with the ball, to help a lot in build-up, to give that fluidity to the game so the ball reaches the front players in the best possible conditions, given the dribbling qualities of Vinicius, Bellingham, Mbappe, Diomande. It's very important that the ball reaches them well. And without the ball, to help in the press and in the defensive phase, to be the best possible version of myself to help the team, and keep working."
