The 25-year-old has conceded only twice in the league so far, with those goals coming in separate matches: Cagliari’s defeat against Inter and their 2-1 victory over Atalanta in Bergamo.
Caprile’s early-season performances have strengthened his reputation, but his contractual situation could become increasingly important as the campaign progresses.
His current agreement with Cagliari runs until 30 June 2029, and there are no negotiations at present to extend it beyond that date.
Caprile initially joined the Sardinian club on loan in January 2025. His performances convinced Cagliari to make the move permanent, paying Napoli €8 million to secure his services in the summer of that year.
The goalkeeper has since been linked with bigger clubs, with AC Milan and Inter among those reported to have monitored his situation. Previous approaches have reportedly been complicated by Cagliari’s valuation.
That assessment has not changed significantly, but the timing could become a factor. At the end of the current season, Caprile will have two years remaining on his contract, potentially creating a more pressing decision for the club over whether to sell or negotiate fresh terms.
A transfer could depend on developments elsewhere in the market, particularly if one of the leading clubs decides to change goalkeepers. Juventus, Milan and Inter are all mentioned in the wider picture, although no completed deal or formal agreement has been reported.
Caprile’s potential price is estimated at between €20 million and €25 million. That would represent a substantial increase on the fee Cagliari paid to sign him permanently.
For now, the goalkeeper remains under contract and the club are not reported to be actively negotiating a renewal. His performances over the coming months could determine whether interest turns into a concrete offer.
Cagliari must weigh the value of keeping a goalkeeper who has made such a strong start against the possibility of securing a significant transfer fee before his contract enters its final two years.
With AC Milan and Inter Milan previously linked, Caprile’s situation is one to watch as the season develops, even though a departure is not yet imminent.
