Yohanna joined AIK from Kaduna-based Ikon Allah Academy in July 2025 for approximately €200,000 and has made a rapid impression in Sweden.
He contributed two goals and three assists in seven Allsvenskan appearances this season before suffering an injury that interrupted his momentum, and has also scored four goals in Swedish Cup football.
AIK recruitment head Miika Takkula has publicly confirmed the scale of interest.
"The sum has to be reasonable because he is a very, very talented player. Good one-on-one, and good in the head."
The Swedish club are reported to be seeking a fee of between €20 million and €30 million, depending on how interest develops across the window.
The left-footed winger operates primarily from the right flank, which allows him to cut inside onto his stronger foot — a profile similar to that of former Brighton midfielder Moisés Caicedo, who was himself sold from the Seagulls for a record fee to Chelsea in 2023.
Brighton's approach, reported by Expressen as a formal bid in preparation rather than a speculative approach, aligns with their established model of identifying and extracting talent from Scandinavia and South America ahead of rival clubs. Yohanna is under contract at AIK until December 2029, giving the Swedish club firm control over the negotiation.
Yohanna turns 19 in late June. Brighton intend to move before the competition for his signature intensifies further when the transfer window formally opens.
