Tottenham confirmed the departure on Wednesday, with the club stating: "Thank you for your service and all the best for the future, Biss."
Bissouma, 29, joined from Brighton in the summer of 2022 for £25 million. His time at the club produced moments of real quality, most notably in the final stages of the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League campaign.
He played impressively in both legs of the semi-final against Bodø/Glimt and in the final against Manchester United in Bilbao, where Spurs lifted the trophy. His two competitive goals for the club came in the Premier League against Everton and West Ham in the opening months of that same season.
The 2025-26 campaign was far more difficult. Bissouma missed the entire first half of the season through injury, returned in January, made 11 appearances in the second half, and finished as an unused substitute for the club's final three Premier League matches — games played amid a dramatic battle to avoid relegation that was settled only on the final day.
The same announcement confirmed six Under-21 departures. Defender Pele Arganese-McDermott, who joined the academy from Luton Town in 2021, became a regular at Development Squad level. Full-back Tyrell Ashcroft arrived from Reading's academy in 2022 and was part of the Premier League 2 title-winning side in 2023-24. Midfielder Leo Black came through the age groups at the club, helped win the Under-17 Premier League Cup in 2022-23 and earned his first England youth call-up in 2024.
Versatile defender-midfielder Dante Cassanova also helped the Under-21s claim the Premier League 2 title in 2023-24 and was named on the bench for the first team on eight occasions the following season. Central midfielder Matthew Craig, who joined in the Under-12s, made his first-team debut away to Leeds United on the final day of the 2022-23 Premier League season and subsequently had loan spells at Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley and Mansfield Town.
Left-back Calum Logan joined from Ipswich Town's academy in 2023, progressed to Under-21 level and spent the recently-concluded campaign on loan at Braintree Town.
From the Under-18s, Jamel Beggs, Samal Bangura and Leon Myrtaj have departed at the end of their contracts. Elijah Upson has rejected a contract offer and will also leave. All four were part of the squad that won the Under-17 Premier League Cup in 2024-25 and had been with the club since the age of seven, with the exception of Bangura who joined in his Under-12 year.
The club extended its thanks to all departing players and their families.
