The 21-year-old joined Bayern in 2025 and has since established himself within the first-team squad. Speaking to Welt am Sonntag, the Germany international reflected on how he grew up dreaming of becoming a professional footballer and representing the Bavarian club.
âI am really living my dream. Even as a child, I knew that becoming a professional footballer was my dream and my goal. I love Bayern Munich. That was already the case when I was a child â and it still is.â
Bischofâs connection to Bayern was reflected in his childhood collection of shirts worn by some of the clubâs most recognisable players. He remembered following the careers of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck RibĂ©ry and Arjen Robben, while also admiring former midfielder Thiago AlcĂąntara.
âI must have had around 30 shirts: Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck RibĂ©ry, Arjen Robben. I also thought Thiago was fantastic, an incredible player. Every holiday I begged my parents to buy me a new shirt.â
The midfielder has made 13 appearances for Bayern in all competitions this season, continuing his development after moving from Hoffenheim. His progress has also been recognised at international level, where he scored his first goal for Germany during the October international break.
Bischof has spoken previously about the importance of making the most of the opportunities he receives at Bayern, where competition for places is considerable. He said his immediate objective was to use his playing time effectively and continue improving within a team expected to challenge for major honours.
His childhood admiration for the club has therefore become a professional responsibility, with Bischof now part of the squad he once followed from afar.
The midfielderâs ambitions extend beyond simply establishing himself in the team. He wants to help Bayern win trophies, including the Champions League, and believes players at the club must embrace that expectation.
For Bischof, the move has brought him closer to a dream that began with collecting the shirts of Bayernâs greats. Now, he is working towards adding his own achievements to the clubâs history.
