“First of all, it is an honour when a top club like City contacts you. I grew up in Munich, I have always played for FC Bayern. My family and friends live here, there is nothing better for me. Therefore, the decision was not difficult,” Pavlović said, according to Sport Bild.
Reports in Germany claimed City were prepared to pay around €100 million for the midfielder. However, the approach did not result in an official transfer, with Pavlović making clear that his preference was to continue his career in Munich.
His decision reflects a strong connection to Bayern, where he has progressed from academy football to becoming a regular senior player. Rather than viewing interest from abroad as a reason to leave, Pavlović appears determined to continue developing at his boyhood club.
He remains under contract until the summer of 2029, giving Bayern a strong position should further approaches arrive. At 22, he has time to build on his progress and establish himself among the leading midfielders in European football.
Pavlović has also become part of the Germany national team, earning 17 caps and scoring once. His club form and international experience have increased his profile, but for now he has made his priorities clear.
