The Norway international left Borussia Dortmund for Manchester City in 2022 and has since established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in European football. He remains under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2034, but speculation over his future has intensified amid the controversy surrounding Cityâs financial-rule case.
Haaland has been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona, while Bayern have also been mentioned as a potential destination. Hainer, however, insists the German champions have no immediate need to strengthen their forward line.
âWe have an excellent attack with Michael Olise, Harry Kane and Luis DĂaz. We scored more than 100 goals last year and are extremely well equipped in the forward positions,â Hainer told Bild TV.
The Bayern president did not completely dismiss the possibility of a future move, though. Asked whether Haaland could become a target in several yearsâ time, he indicated that the club would assess the situation again when circumstances changed.
âIf we are talking about a point several years in the future, we would look at the situation again,â he said.
Bayernâs current attacking options help explain the clubâs position. Harry Kane has become a prolific scorer since arriving in Germany, while Olise and DĂaz offer additional creativity and goal threat. Bayern believe their existing group is capable of meeting their immediate ambitions.
Kaneâs own contract situation is also relevant to the longer-term picture. Discussions over an extension have been positive, and Bayern Munich are keen to retain the England captain as a central figure in their plans.
Haaland, meanwhile, continues to deliver for Manchester City. He scored in the 3-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday, taking his career tally for the club to 170 goals and 30 assists in 206 competitive appearances, according to the figures reported in Sweden.
The financial case involving City has added an extra layer to speculation about the strikerâs future, but no move is imminent and Hainer did not suggest Bayern are preparing an offer.
For now, the message from Munich is that their attack is already strong enough. Haaland remains an elite player who could become relevant in future transfer planning, but Bayern will only reconsider the possibility if their needs and the circumstances around the Norwegian change.
