Bardghji Barcelona exit edges closer as Dortmund eye Adeyemi swap

Roony Bardghji's route out of Barcelona is coming into sharper focus, with Borussia Dortmund said to be ready to take the Swedish winger as makeweight in a deal to sign Karim Adeyemi.

According to journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund remain some distance apart on a fee for Adeyemi, with Barcelona's opening bid of €20million plus a sell-on percentage falling well short of Dortmund's €40million valuation.

To help close that gap, Dortmund have put forward three Barcelona players they would be willing to accept as part of the deal: Bardghji, Hector Fort and Marc Casado. Barcelona are reported to be open to letting any of the three leave under the right conditions, though Dortmund are said to want only one of them.

Adeyemi, who has a year left on his contract, has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona and is understood to want the move, strengthening the Catalan club's hand in negotiations even as the transfer fee remains unresolved.

For Bardghji, the interest from Dortmund is the latest development in a search for regular football that has rumbled on for months. The 20-year-old has made only a handful of starts for Barcelona this season, managing one goal and one assist in 641 minutes of LaLiga action, with Lamine Yamal established as Hansi Flick's first-choice on the right of attack.

Bardghji has previously been linked with moves to Ajax, Brighton, Aston Villa and Leeds United, and has more recently been mentioned in connection with Everton. Barcelona signed the Sweden international from FC Copenhagen last summer for a fee in the region of €2.7million, where he had established himself as one of the most exciting teenage talents in European football, scoring 15 goals in 84 appearances, before a serious knee injury interrupted his rise and cost him almost a year on the sidelines.

Whether any exit takes the form of a makeweight in the Adeyemi deal or a separate transfer elsewhere remains to be seen, with Barcelona still working through several parallel conversations involving Bardghji's future this summer. The winger, who won both LaLiga and the Supercopa de España in his first season at Camp Nou, is contracted to the club until 2029.
