According to Diario Sport, Barcelona's position is flexible. They would prefer to keep Bardghji if he is content to remain as squad depth, but acknowledge that a loan or permanent sale is possible if he requests regular football elsewhere. The key variable is the World Cup β the club want to assess his performances for Sweden this summer before making a final decision, given that a strong tournament could significantly increase his value beyond the current β¬10 million benchmark.
Bardghji, 20, joined from FC Copenhagen last summer for β¬2.5 million β one of the more quietly executed signings of the window β and has registered two goals and four assists in 25 appearances, accumulating 721 minutes.
The competition in his position has been unavoidable from day one, with Yamal occupying the left flank as first choice and Dani Olmo, FermΓn LΓ³pez and Ferran Torres providing further depth.
Head coach Hansi Flick spoke about the situation in April.
"I have spoken to him. Now he plays with the best and has improved a lot. We will talk when the season is over. We need everyone to be motivated."
Bardghji turned down five loan offers from English clubs in January, choosing to fight for his place rather than leave mid-season.
That decision has paid dividends in one sense β Yamal's minor injury in recent weeks gave him back-to-back starts, and he has performed well enough to reinforce Flick's belief in his ability. However, the structural problem remains. If Yamal is fit, Bardghji does not start.
Porto are the most advanced of the interested clubs, having tracked him closely since before his move to Barcelona and now reviving that interest formally. Monaco and VfB Stuttgart would offer Champions League and Europa League football respectively β both strong selling points for a player approaching the peak of his development years.
