Barcelona's interest in Bisiwu is long-standing.
Sporting director Deco and head of scouting João Amaral had previously made a trip to Belgium to watch the teenager in person, and the club is understood to have been tracking him since the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar.
The visit to the Final Four was intended to provide further live assessment ahead of a potential summer move.
The result was frustrating from a scouting perspective. Bisiwu came on only in the closing minutes of a match that Brugge lost on penalties, giving Barcelona's observers little to evaluate.
The club's broader sources indicated the trip formed part of a wider evaluation of both players and the Youth League environment, not solely a Bisiwu assessment.
Bisiwu's agent has confirmed Barcelona's active interest, saying the Catalan club is "closely following" the player and "is one of the clubs that is actively following his situation."
According to Matteo Moretto's reporting for Marca, Barcelona were closing in on a deal as early as January, with the preferred timeline being a summer arrival in July 2026.
The player's contract with Club Brugge runs until 2027, but reports suggest he has declined to renew, giving Barcelona additional leverage.
