The Premier League had long been Atubolu's stated priority, but with interest from England so far limited to newly promoted clubs Hull City and Coventry City, both of whom he has turned down, his approach appears to have shifted.
Olympique Marseille remain in the running too, giving the German international three concrete continental suitors as his contract at Freiburg, which runs until next summer, ticks down. Atubolu's price tag would represent a significantly more modest outlay than some of the other names Juventus have considered, and his age and Bundesliga pedigree make him an appealing option regardless of which of Guglielmo Vicario or Zion Suzuki, if either, they ultimately fail to sign.
