Habeeb Ogunneye's move from Manchester United has been agreed in full, with the 20-year-old right-back completing a medical at Arsenal's training ground last Thursday.
The free transfer includes a 40 per cent sell-on clause for United, and an announcement is understood to be imminent, expected within the next 48 hours, according to the London Evening Standard.
Ogunneye will primarily link up with Arsenal's Under-21s but has also been promised opportunities to train with Mikel Arteta's first-team squad, part of the pitch that persuaded him to leave Old Trafford after slipping down the pecking order behind Jaydan Kamason and spending last season on loan at Newport County.
Igor Tyjon, the 18-year-old Blackburn Rovers striker, is also set to be confirmed as an Arsenal player in the coming days.
He underwent a medical last week after the two clubs agreed an initial fee of £1million, with a further £2million available in add-ons. The move ends a saga stretching back to Arsenal's first attempt to sign Tyjon in January, when Blackburn rejected the approach and extended his scholarship deal instead.
Tyjon has made just three senior appearances for Blackburn but scored seven goals in 21 outings for their Under-21 side last season, and having already turned down the offer of professional terms at Ewood Park, he is expected to strengthen Arsenal's academy ranks with the possibility of senior involvement under Arteta this season.
Talks remain ongoing over a third Manchester United academy player, James Scanlon. Personal terms are not thought to be an issue for the 19-year-old winger, and Arsenal are hopeful of finalising a deal by the end of the week, though an agreement between the two clubs has yet to be reached.
Scanlon, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Swindon Town, has already earned 24 caps for Gibraltar, scoring five goals, and became the first Manchester United player to represent the nation at senior level after making his debut in March 2024.
The trio would represent a significant restocking of Arsenal's Under-21 squad, continuing the club's recent pattern of targeting promising academy talent from direct rivals — a reversal of United's own recent raids on Arsenal's youth ranks for Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven.
