The 19-year-old French Under-21 international has scored 11 Premier League goals in 29 appearances this season, including strikes against Arsenal in both the home and away fixtures, and has drawn admiring glances from across the top of the Premier League.
According to Football.London, the Gunners are among a group of clubs โ domestic and European โ tracking Kroupi, with Borussia Dortmund having maintained interest from last summer.
The move reflects Arsenal's pressing need to strengthen wide and in attacking midfield positions this summer. Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli all face uncertain futures, with departures possible for all three. Academy forward Ethan Nwaneri is also attracting significant outside interest, further thinning a group Arteta will need to rebuild.
Kroupi fits the profile Arsenal are targeting โ young, with immediate impact potential and the physical tools required to succeed in the English top flight. He is adept at holding off defenders in tight spaces before turning and creating goalscoring opportunities, and can operate as either an out-and-out striker or a second forward in a more withdrawn role.
The obstacle is financial. Bournemouth are under no obligation to sell. Kroupi's contract runs until 2030 and contains no release clause โ unlike the agreements that enabled the club to sell Dean Huijsen and Antoine Semenyo โ meaning any negotiations will begin from a position of Cherries strength.
Reports indicate Bournemouth could demand in excess of ยฃ65 million, with some estimates placing the fee even higher given the level of competition for his signature.
Manchester United and Manchester City are also monitoring the situation, as is Chelsea. For Arsenal, the timing of their interest is significant โ they go into Tuesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid with the momentum of a title charge and a European run that gives them a level of attraction few clubs can currently match.
