Pereira has yet to make his senior debut, but his scoring record at youth level and involvement with Argentina’s national teams have brought him to the attention of clubs outside Brazil.
He joined Santos in 2023 after spells with Grêmio and Juventude and quickly established himself as a prolific scorer. Pereira finished as Santos’ leading scorer in the 2025 Paulista U15 championship with 10 goals.
The striker has continued to score after moving up to the U17 level, registering nine goals in 2026 while averaging close to a goal every 90 minutes.
Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte reports that Arsenal are among the clubs watching Pereira, with interest building while he continues his development at Santos.
Pereira is eligible to represent both Argentina and Brazil and has already featured for Argentina’s youth sides. Globo Esporte profiled him in March, when he was with Santos’ U16 group, and reported that he had received three call-ups from Argentina.
During one of those trips, Pereira watched Lionel Messi train, although the young players were not permitted to approach the Argentina captain.
His development at Santos has included a busy routine of football, school and gym work. Pereira also regularly watched the senior squad training on an adjoining pitch, with the opportunity to eventually train alongside Neymar described as a personal ambition.
On the pitch, Pereira is viewed as a centre-forward who offers more than penalty-area finishing. His movement and physical strength have stood out for his age, while he is also capable of contributing to build-up play and shooting from distance with either power or accuracy.
RTI Esporte has compared his style with Álvarez, although Pereira has yet to play senior football.
There is also a contractual issue for Santos to resolve. Pereira's current youth development agreement expires on February 28, 2027, and it is not the same type of arrangement as a professional contract.
With Arsenal and other European clubs watching, Santos face a decision over the teenager's professional future before his current agreement expires.
