Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Newcastle United right-back Tino Livramento over a summer transfer, with the England full-back understood to be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

FootballTransfers first reported Arsenal's interest in January, and the Gunners have now held positive, in-depth discussions with Livramento's representatives over a contract.

The player is convinced the move will happen, and the shared agency between Livramento and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is seen as an advantage in smoothing negotiations.

The 23-year-old is being viewed as a long-term successor to Ben White, who has fallen behind Jurrien Timber in the right-back pecking order and is expected to leave this summer. Livramento's ability to operate on either flank adds further appeal.

French journalist Sébastien Vidal, who first reported the personal terms agreement, stressed that club-to-club talks have not yet started. Newcastle United are known to be resistant to selling the player, who has contributed to a period of significant progress at St James' Park — including last season's Carabao Cup triumph and a return to the Champions League.

The fee Newcastle are likely to demand sits between €75 and €80 million, with Arsenal to weigh up whether that represents value for a player who has had a difficult injury record. Livramento has missed significant stretches of this season with a thigh problem and is facing a battle to play before the campaign ends.

He came through Chelsea's academy before joining Southampton in 2021 and moving to Newcastle in 2023. He has made 106 appearances for the Magpies and earned five senior England caps, though his World Cup squad prospects have also been affected by his injury absence.

Manchester City are understood to be monitoring the situation, and any move for Livramento may depend on how many of Newcastle's other key players — including Anthony Gordon — depart in the same window.
