Febas, who spent eight years in Real Madrid's academy before departing without making a senior appearance for the first team, spoke to Celta's official media ahead of his formal presentation on Tuesday.
"A few months ago my agent told me there was interest from Celta. I am very happy that a club like this is interested in me — it is always a nice feeling."
Looking back on his career trajectory, he acknowledged a long and winding route to this point.
He started with loan spells at Real Zaragoza — where he lined up alongside Borja Iglesias in the second division — and then Albacete, before a four-year contract at Real Mallorca that lasted two and a half seasons. Spells followed at Málaga, where he suffered relegation, and then three years at Elche that he described as transformative, including a promotion and a final-day top-flight survival.
"Elche changed my life. Those three years were wonderful."
He views the Celta move as a genuine step up.
"Joining here is a little step forward in my career. I am desperate to play in a European competition, which I have never done. I know it will be a great experience."
The prospect of playing under coach Manolo Giráldez also appealed.
"His style suits me. Always trying to play from the back with the ball, pressing high as a block — though I am comfortable in a lower block too."
Febas added that he has barely had time to explore his new city, having arrived only recently, but is determined to immerse himself fully in both the club and Vigo from the outset.
Celta finished the previous LaLiga season in sixth place, earning European qualification.
