Speaking to CanalGOATBR after Al Nassr's 2-0 win over Al-Ahli, the 41-year-old Portuguese forward was unusually candid about his timeline.
"The end of my career is approaching. Let's enjoy every match."
Yet Ronaldo was equally clear that stepping back is not on his mind.
"My career has been brilliant and I want it to continue to be so. I'm still enjoying it, I'm still scoring goals."
He has delivered 54 goals in 46 appearances this season across all competitions, a return that would be extraordinary at any age. Al Nassr sit eight points clear of Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, though they have played one more game, with a first league title in Ronaldo's time in Saudi Arabia still within reach.
Ronaldo framed the motivation as something beyond personal record-chasing.
"But above all, it's about winning. And we're very eager to win the league."
He also reflected on the generations of supporters who have followed his career, from his breakthrough at Sporting CP through his peaks at Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Juventus.
"I continue playing not only for this generation, but also for the previous one and for the one to come. I enjoy it day by day, match by match, year after year โ even now that I am approaching the end of my career."
At 41, Ronaldo remains one of the most prolific forwards in any league on the planet. Whether Al Nassr can hand him the title that has eluded him in three years in Riyadh will go a long way to defining the final chapter.
