Every character of the phrase has been created from handwritten messages left by supporters in the commemorative book displayed at Casa Milan in the days that followed, turning thousands of individual tributes into a single symbol the club will carry throughout the campaign.
The patch will sit on the left sleeve of the jersey โ the same arm on which Baresi wore the captain's armband for more than 700 matches between 1982 and 1997, a spell that brought six Serie A titles and three European Cups and made him one of the defining figures of Italian football.
A one-club man for his entire 20-year career, Baresi also won two Intercontinental Cups and four Italian Super Cups, captained Italy to the 1994 World Cup final, and was part of the squad that lifted the trophy in 1982. Milan retired his number 6 shirt after his retirement in 1997, and it has not been worn since.
"6 per sempre" will be worn by the Men's and Women's First Teams, Milan Futuro and the Primavera sides throughout the 2026/27 season. It debuts this weekend, with the Women's First Team wearing it against Como on Saturday in the Serie A Women's Cup at the PUMA House of Football, before the Men's First Team follow suit away at Torino on Sunday.

Supporters who buy an official 2026/27 jersey will be able to have the patch applied free of charge at AC Milan Stores, extending the tribute beyond the playing squad and into the stands.
In a statement, the club described the patch as a lasting way of honouring the relationship between Baresi, Milan and its supporters, calling it a symbol of loyalty, memory and belonging that reflects the affection in which he was held across the Rossoneri world.
Baresi's final public appearance had come in February, when he carried the Olympic torch into the San Siro alongside former Inter defender Giuseppe Bergomi at the opening ceremony of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
