Strahinja Pavlović has arrived at Casa Milan to complete a contract extension that is expected to keep him at the club until 30 June 2031.

The Serbian centre-back, born in 2001, joined Milan from Red Bull Salzburg in 2024 and has become an increasingly important part of the defensive set-up. His existing agreement runs until 2028, with an option for a further year, but the proposed new deal would extend his stay significantly.

Sky Sport reported that Pavlović had arrived at the club’s headquarters to sign the new contract. The move follows a period in which the defender has strengthened his position in the team after an inconsistent first season in Italy.

Milan paid Salzburg a reported €18 million, with a further €2 million in potential bonuses, to bring him to San Siro. The investment is now being followed by an effort to secure his longer-term future, reflecting the club’s confidence in his development.

Pavlović initially had to adapt to the demands of Italian football, but his physical presence and willingness to defend aggressively have helped him establish himself. A left-footed centre-back standing around 1.94 metres tall, he offers Milan strength in aerial duels and the ability to defend across different back-line structures.

His importance has continued under Massimiliano Allegri and Ruben Amorim, with the club seeking continuity in a position where dependable options are essential. Extending the contract would also reduce the prospect of Milan having to consider his future while his current deal approaches its final seasons.

The new agreement is expected to run through June 2031. Financial details have not been officially confirmed, and the extension should be treated as pending until Milan announces its completion.

For Pavlović, the move would reward a rise from a defender still adapting to Serie A into a regular presence in the Rossoneri back line. For Milan, it would secure a 25-year-old international entering what should be some of the most important years of his career.
