According to matching reports from Sky and Bild, the 24-year-old winger's situation remains genuinely open: no concrete offers have come in for him, and he is said to be ready to fight for a squad spot regardless of the club's stance.
Bayern Munich have repeatedly made clear to Zaragoza that he lacks a long-term future in Munich, following the same messaging Eberl gave to fellow loan returnees João Palhinha and Sacha Boey, both of whom the club also wants to move on this summer.
Zaragoza, however, is reportedly only open to leaving for a top offer, ideally from Spain, and shows little urgency about forcing an exit on his own terms. Sky has previously reported that he would rather stay and take his chances under head coach Vincent Kompany than accept a move he doesn't want, with his substantial salary — reported at around €4m — making him hard to place elsewhere in any case.
Should no suitable proposal materialise, Bayern could be left carrying Zaragoza and his full wage on the books for another season.
The winger, who joined from Granada for around €17m in January 2024 and is contracted until 2029, has spent the past two campaigns out on loan — first at Osasuna, most recently at AS Roma — without ever fully establishing himself in Munich; in his brief spells at the club itself he has managed only a handful of appearances under Thomas Tuchel.
Interest from Valencia, Girona and clubs in Italy has been mentioned in various reports, though nothing concrete has emerged so far this window, and Bayern's other two "unwanted" returnees, Palhinha and Boey, remain in a similarly unresolved position of their own.
