The London Evening Standard states that Alonso met with a range of club staff during the visit — part of a broader process of familiarisation with Chelsea's internal operations before he officially takes the reins. He has already been in regular dialogue with the club's sporting directors over recruitment and transfer plans for several weeks.
Among the coaches who accompanied Alonso to Cobham were Alberto Encinas, Sebastián Parrilla, Benat Labaien and Ismael Camenforte López — the four members of his core tactical staff who will work alongside him throughout the campaign.
Chelsea also retain several backroom staff members who operate independently of the manager role. Alonso will work alongside the club's head of goalkeeping Ben Roberts and set-piece coach Bernardo Cueva, as well as Calum McFarlane — who served as interim and caretaker head coach following Liam Rosenior's sacking and will now take a coaching role within Alonso's structure.
McFarlane was publicly supportive when Alonso's appointment was confirmed.
"Very talented, massive pedigree. Yeah, really excited for the club. We're all looking forward to working with them. It's a massive club. I think we've got really exciting players coming to play here. Even though it's a disappointing season, they are showing at times this year the kind of quality that we have."
Chelsea finished outside the top six last season and missed European football entirely. The scale of the rebuild Alonso faces will become clearer once the summer window opens on June 15.
