Wehrle has flatly dened Juventus have made contact over Angelo Stiller, promised Deniz Undav a contract offer, and has sidestepped the question of Alexander Nübel's future entirely.
VfB Stuttgart drew 3-3 with TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday in a result that preserved their Champions League qualification push heading into the season's final weeks.
The Swabians sit fourth and need results in their remaining fixtures to hold off the chasing pack. The financial and structural significance of reaching the competition for a second consecutive season looms over every conversation about the summer.
On Stiller, whose name has been connected to Juventus for much of the campaign, Wehrle was as direct as he could be without guaranteeing the player's future.
"In all the time I've known Angelo Stiller, I've read something about him every few weeks. The fact is, no one from Juventus has called me and nothing has come in writing either. He is a very, very important player for us and we have absolutely no interest in occupying ourselves with selling Angelo Stiller."
Stuttgart's position is strengthened by the fact that Stiller's contract contains a buyout clause which the club has the right to purchase internally — removing the player's ability to force a move at a set price and placing the decision entirely in the club's hands.
Stiller's deal runs until 2028. He has been one of the most consistent performers in the Bundesliga this season, and Wehrle confirmed his personal view that the 25-year-old has earned a place in Germany's World Cup squad.
On Undav, the Germany international striker who is contracted until 2027, Wehrle confirmed that extension talks are underway and that the club intends to make a formal offer.
"We will make a respectful offer to Deniz. We are in conversations and he feels comfortable with us. In the end the decision is his."
Undav has scored 13 goals and provided six assists across all competitions this season, including a significant contribution in Stuttgart's DFB-Pokal run. His performances have maintained his Germany involvement under Julian Nagelsmann, and Wehrle expressed his own view that the forward deserves a place in the World Cup squad.
On Nübel, who is returning to Bayern Munich at the end of his loan, Wehrle declined to engage directly with the question of who replaces him.
"I would be rather foolish to say anything about that now. It is a topic I want to address after the season ends."
Stuttgart face Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin and RB Leipzig in their final three Bundesliga fixtures.
