The 18-year-old Senegal international has been identified as one of the profiles that fits Unai Emery's requirements on the attacking line.
The Daily Mail understands Aston Villa will focus on younger players in the summer window, with Mbaye among those they admire. The deal would not be straightforward โ his contract runs until 2028 and PSG are not eager to sell, while competition from Liverpool and Manchester City is likely to push any fee well above his โฌ30 million Transfermarkt valuation.
Rogers is widely expected to be targeted by the Premier League's wealthiest clubs this summer following another impressive season, while Sancho returns to Manchester United when his loan expires. Leon Bailey is also likely to move on. The exits open clear vacancies across the attacking line that Villa need to fill if they are to maintain the level Emery has built.
Mbaye, born in France but representing Senegal internationally, prefers to play on the right but can operate effectively on the left. He has made 26 appearances for PSG this season, contributing one goal and two assists, but has started only ten times โ a lack of regular football that is reported to be causing frustration within his camp.
PSG manager Luis Enrique acknowledged the situation directly.
"Every minute you play at PSG has to be special. You have to be ready. It is simply competition and some players have to stay out of the team."
Mbaye has already shown his quality at international level, scoring three goals in ten appearances for Senegal and featuring at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored in the round of 16 win over Sudan.
Champions League qualification would give Villa a significant advantage over domestic rivals in any pursuit. They are currently fifth, a point behind Aston Villa โ and their own destiny is still very much in their hands.
