Spurs have now gone four successive Premier League matches without scoring, extending to six hours and 47 minutes since their last league goal, following Saturday's goalless draw at home to Everton.
Roberto De Zerbi's side have spent more than ยฃ300 million on new signings this summer, with an attack alone costing in excess of ยฃ416 million, yet remain stuck in 17th place with relegation fears already resurfacing.
Van de Ven, however, was unwilling to describe the barren run as a crisis after the draw.
"It was a good performance from us, we were on top of the game, but we need to score a goal," Van de Ven said. "I wouldn't say it's a problem, because we are creating a lot of chances. Of course we need to score, but I don't want to call it a problem."
Asked whether the lack of goals pointed to a mental block among Tottenham's attacking players, the Netherlands international pointed instead to footballing factors.
"I don't think it's a mental thing, we need to review things again and see what we can do better in the final third as a group, to make even bigger opportunities to score goals," he said. "We've had some great opportunities and I think more of them can come if we make the right choices at the right times."
Summer signings Omar Marmoush and Savio, both arrivals from Manchester City, showed early promise before fading as the game wore on, with Marmoush's wayward pass in the first half going viral on social media.
Van de Ven remained upbeat despite a testing run of fixtures to come, with Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester United among Tottenham's next opponents.
"We're feeling good, we played a good game and put in a good performance which is really important, we need to build on that," he said. "I think there is hope, obviously, when we play games like this and we are on top of the opposition most of the time. We need to make better decisions in the final third and start scoring goals โ I think there are a lot of positives to take from this game."
