Kane's 67th-minute header from Bellingham's assist was his 11th World Cup goal, moving the England captain ahead of Gary Lineker as the country's all-time leading scorer at the tournament.
Kane spoke to ITV Sport afterwards, hailing both the collective display and Bellingham's individual contribution.
"A solid performance against a tricky side," Kane said. "The way they play, they have some fast players, some tricky players and they can cause you problems but overall we controlled it well.
"We got better in the second half, we took our chances and it became a bit of a basketball match, but overall a good win."
On Bellingham he said: "Another top performance from Jude. He looks fit and sharp and like he is able to go out there and prove to the world what type of player he is โ and he showed that again. He put in non-stop effort, running, tackling, tracking back and that's the kind of player you want. He is fantastic running with the ball and without, making runs from deep and he is strong physically. He is a fantastic player, all around, and wherever he plays he is effective for sure, and he was today."
Marcus Rashford, starting for the first time in the tournament, was measured in his own assessment while reflecting on Thomas Tuchel's message to the squad.
"Just to enjoy the moment," Rashford said. "It's always a special moment to put on the England shirt but coming to a World Cup to get through the group, it's a great achievement and us players are always focused on the next one, but he's told us to take a moment to enjoy it and take it in. Now we need to push ourselves every three days โ sometimes I find that is easier because it's more what we are used to at clubs. Hopefully, we take it in our stride and make a better performance in the next game."
On his own display: "I just try to do my best. I'm happy to start but more importantly, I'm happy to win the points and help impact the team in a positive way. I still think it's not quite my best level and I can be more of a threat, but I try to be positive and play forward passes and link the play on that side. I want to make actions to hurt the opposition. Just continue with that mindset."
Coach Thomas Tuchel acknowledged the job was done without letting the performance paper over the work still needed.
"We did what was needed," Tuchel said. "It was what we expected: a tough match against a physical opponent. They are a difficult team to score against and we were the only team to create this amount of chances and score twice. We were very aggressive, we had to be careful with counter attacks.
"We deserved to win, but it was a hard piece of work. There's more to build on, you have to get so many details right and it's an aggressive approach to defend the one-on-ones. The tournament starts again now in the knockouts. Now we collect our strengths and energy and build on what we have โ we have the team spirit, fighting and belief. We will step up. The bigger the games get, the bigger we will get."
On Bellingham: "Good performance, happy he is in this kind of shape and everyone did what they needed to do, and Jude was a big part of that."
On his squad players: "I'm happy that Ollie Watkins is on the pitch and Jordan Henderson too, they deserve so much more than they get. It is difficult decisions for me but that's what they signed up for."
