The nine Premier League clubs competing in Europe this season โ Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Sunderland โ all enter at this stage.
Holders Manchester City were drawn at home to Norwich, while Fleetwood Town, the only fourth-tier side left in the competition, host Sheffield United.
Leeds could face Chelsea in the next round, contingent on the London club beating Luton on Thursday, with the final two places in the draw still to be settled when Chelsea host Luton and Fulham travel to AFC Wimbledon on Thursday evening.
To avoid clashing with the opening rounds of the Champions League and Europa League, third-round matches will be spread across the weeks commencing Monday 7 and Monday 14 September.
