Tensions spilled over after Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou, with Gabriel Jesus and Denzel Dumfries needing to be separated after a heated exchange.

The final whistle did not end the tension at Spotify Camp Nou after Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1, with Gabriel Jesus and Denzel Dumfries involved in a heated exchange that required intervention from team-mates.

The incident followed a dramatic Clásico settled by Kylian Mbappé’s late winner. The French forward scored twice, including an 87th-minute finish after a rapid Madrid counterattack, to secure the points for José Mourinho’s side.

Footage broadcast by Movistar Plus Deportes showed Gabriel Jesus and Jude Bellingham exchanging words after the match. Team-mates moved between the pair as the confrontation threatened to escalate, while Raphinha guided Bellingham away and Endrick held Gabriel Jesus back.

The Brazilian forward also appeared to argue with Dumfries before Eric García, who was not playing, helped lead him away from the pitch.

The episode came after an intense contest in which frustration grew as Barcelona pushed for a winner and Madrid punished them on the break. Bellingham had played a prominent role in the decisive move, using close control to help launch the attack that ended with Camavinga setting up Mbappé.

The sequence appeared to add to the tension between the players, although the precise words exchanged were not clear from the footage. No physical fight was reported, and team-mates intervened before the confrontation went further.

Madrid’s victory was a significant result in the title race, ending Barcelona’s run of nine consecutive league wins and reducing their advantage at the top to three points. The hosts had responded to Mbappé’s first-half opener through Raphinha, but could not find a second equaliser after the visitors regained the lead.

The closing moments had already been heated, with players from both teams visibly frustrated as the match approached its conclusion. After the final whistle, the disagreement continued as the players began leaving the pitch.

Gabriel Jesus was held back from moving towards Bellingham, while others attempted to calm the situation. Dumfries was also involved in the exchange, but the confrontation eventually broke up without a reported physical altercation.

The scenes added another flashpoint to a fiercely contested Clásico, which had already featured disputed challenges and strong reactions to the late goal. Madrid celebrated a valuable away win, while Barcelona were left to process both the defeat and the post-match incident.

The focus will now turn to the teams’ next fixtures, with Barcelona preparing to face Alavés and Madrid due to meet Racing Santander. The immediate priority for both clubs will be to move on from a match that produced a decisive result and a tense ending.
