The French midfielder posted his statement on Instagram on Friday, a day after Valverde published his own account of events. Neither player names the other directly in their respective statements — a coordinated approach that both appear to have adopted to reduce tension and avoid further public escalation.
Tchouaméni acknowledged and accepted the €500,000 fine imposed by Real Madrid and said the club's sanction was right and proper.
His statement in full: "What happened this week in training is unacceptable. I say this thinking about the example we are expected to set for young people, whether in football or at school.
"Regardless of who is right or wrong, we must always look for the calmest solution to resolve a conflict. Above all, I regret the image we have given of the club. I know that the supporters, the coaching staff, my teammates, the board — everyone is deeply disappointed by how this season has unfolded. But frustration cannot be an excuse for everything. These incidents, even if they can happen in any dressing room, are not worthy of Real Madrid.
"Above all because Real Madrid is the most talked-about club in the world. The internet loves to invent the most outlandish stories to generate excitement, so do not believe everything that is said or the false narratives. In any case, it is no longer the time to find out who did what, who said what, or who was right or wrong.
"I acknowledge the club's sanction and I accept it. We remain a family, with disagreements at times, but we must always put our objectives above everything else. I have apologised to the group and I also want to extend my apologies to all Real Madrid supporters. Now is the time to look forward, and all our attention is focused on El Clásico and on the season ahead of us — to bring the club back to the top, where it belongs."
Tchouaméni will travel with the squad to Barcelona and is available for selection on Sunday. Valverde, diagnosed with cranioencephalic trauma, will not feature.
Real Madrid have confirmed the fine and the conclusion of internal disciplinary procedures. No sporting punishment has been imposed on either player.
Barcelona can win La Liga on Sunday with any result that is better than a Real Madrid win. Tchouaméni's statement is the last word from inside the dressing room before the Clásico begins.
