Petar Sucić admitted he does not care which position he plays in as long as he is on the pitch, describing an "incredible" debut season at Inter Milan that has ended with the Croatian midfielder lifting two trophies at the Stadio Olimpico.

Sucić, who joined Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb last summer, spoke in the post-match press conference following Inter's 2-0 Coppa Italia final victory over Lazio.

"I don't know what to say — I am proud to play for such a great club. We have won two titles. I don't care where I play, whether central midfield, as a holding midfielder, as a wing-back or as a forward. The important thing is to play and I want to play as much as possible. I don't have a preferred position."

On what the season has meant to him personally.

"I know how important it is to play for the Inter fans. We managed to make the fans happy by winning two titles. I am living incredible emotions. I am very, very happy."

He was asked directly about comparisons with Marcelo Brozović, the former Inter midfielder and Croatian international who defined the club's midfield for a decade before leaving for Al-Nassr in 2023.

"Brozović is a great player — I only have positive words for him. I am proud of the comparison with him. I try to do my best on the pitch to help the team. Sometimes I can play badly, other times I can play well. I am very happy about this first year and I hope for great things in the future with Inter."

Sucić started tonight at the Olimpico and was replaced by Henrikh Mkhitaryan on 68 minutes as Chivu managed the squad through the second half. He also scored in Inter's 3-0 Serie A victory over the same opponents last Saturday — a result that served as the dress rehearsal for tonight's final.

The comparison with Brozović is not superficial. Both are right-footed Croatian central midfielders with passing range, press resistance and the ability to control tempo — skills that have made Sucić one of the most talked-about arrivals in Serie A this season.
