Orjan Nyland was first out the door. The goalkeeper, on World Cup duty with Norway, posted his farewell through the club's official channels moments after the final LaLiga game against Celta Vigo.
"It has been a source of pride for me to defend this badge. Now it's time for something else, but I will always carry Sevilla in my heart. I wasn't born a Sevillista, but I will die as one of them. Thank you for everything."

The one that really stings is captain Nemanja Gudelj. The Serbian ranks fifth among foreign players for appearances in Sevilla's history and has worn the armband since Jesus Navas hung up his boots, lifting two Europa League trophies along the way. He wanted an eighth season. Sevilla called it a mutual decision when they announced the split a fortnight ago, but Gudelj had been banking on staying, and the frustration on his side is impossible to hide.
Cesar Azpilicueta bowed out too, calling time on a decorated career after one final campaign at Sevilla. The defender put his experience to good use in the dressing room as the club scrapped for survival in a nerve-shredding run-in.
Loan men Neal Maupay and Batista Mendy have headed back to Marseille and Trabzonspor respectively, both leaving with warm words for the fans, while Alexis Sanchez is still talking to the club about staying on for another year in Andalusia.
Then there's Adnan Januzaj, who deserves a chapter of his own. He arrived at a Sevilla side playing Champions League football and leaves having made just 30 appearances in total, 13 of them this season: 817 minutes, two goals, both in the Copa del Rey, and a single assist since signing as a free agent at the end of the 2022 market. Credit where it's due, though: Januzaj agreed to take a pay cut roughly a year ago to help the club register new signings, something not every player was willing to do.
His time in Andalusia was a rollercoaster from the start. A January loan to Istanbul Basaksehir followed his debut season, before he returned in 2023-24 as a player nobody could shift. Another loan followed two summers ago, to Las Palmas, where his form nosedived. His final campaign was similarly stop-start, limited to just 384 minutes across 13 appearances.
