The England international, who joined Arsenal's Hale End academy as an eight-year-old, spoke to reporters on the eve of the final at the Puskás Aréna with a composure that reflected his standing at the club after six seasons as a first-team regular.
"We all know where my journey started," Saka said. "Eight-year-old at Hale End Road. This was a long way away — trying to win the Premier League, trying to win the Champions League with Arsenal.
"It feels like this last week, it's all become a reality. Tomorrow I'm very excited at the opportunity to win another trophy here and create that history for the club I love."
The Premier League title, secured in the final week of the season, ended a 22-year wait. Winning the Champions League would deliver Arsenal's first ever European Cup — a distinction that gives the final a particular weight beyond the individual match.
Saka has been present for all of it. He was at the club when Mikel Arteta arrived in December 2019 with Arsenal finishing eighth in the Premier League and out of Europe. He described the distance between then and now without embellishment.
"We were very far away from the level we are now. But Mikel made it clear that he wanted to bring Arsenal back to where we believe it belongs — competing at the highest level, fighting for all the trophies. I'm proud I can sit here today and say that we've achieved that in winning the Premier League."
Arsenal's season has been one of the most physically demanding in the club's history, with five players exceeding 4,000 minutes across all competitions — more than any PSG player has accumulated in the same period. The suggestion that fatigue could be a factor was met with characteristic directness by Saka.
"It's moments, not minutes, that will decide the final. We're so excited, so motivated to do something special and make the parade even more crazy."
Sunday's parade through north London is expected to draw close to a million people, regardless of tonight's result. For Saka and his teammates, the mission is clear: make it more than one trophy that travels through those streets.
