The 21-year-old joined Shakhtar from Atlético Mineiro around 18 months ago and has developed into an important attacking player in Ukraine. His performances this season have attracted renewed attention, with five goals and five assists in 13 appearances across competitions.
According to Ukrainian journalist Igor Tsyganyk, Leipzig came close to signing Alisson during the summer of 2025. However, Shakhtar ultimately decided against allowing the Brazilian to leave.
“I know that Alisson could have moved to RB Leipzig, but not this season – in the summer of 2025. This summer, Shakhtar no longer considered the possibility of selling the Brazilian because of their participation in the Champions League,” Tsyganyk said, as quoted by Terrikon.
The German club have not abandoned their interest, with reports suggesting they are now preparing a proposal worth approximately €30 million. Shakhtar, however, are said to value the winger at €50 million.
That difference in valuation could complicate negotiations, particularly with Alisson continuing to make an impact for the Ukrainian side. His development since arriving from Atlético Mineiro has strengthened his position within the squad and increased his appeal to clubs across Europe.
RB Leipzig are not the only Bundesliga side to have considered the player. Bayer Leverkusen also monitored Alisson during the previous summer transfer window, although no agreement was reached.
Shakhtar have a long history of recruiting Brazilian footballers and have regularly used the Ukrainian club as a platform for South American talent to establish themselves in European football. Alisson has followed that pathway, adapting to a new league and gaining experience in continental competition.
His current performances have now put him back on Leipzig’s radar, but the reported €20 million gap between the clubs’ valuations remains significant. Whether the German side are prepared to increase their offer, or Shakhtar are willing to lower their demands, will determine whether the interest develops into a formal transfer negotiation.
