Now he speaks out on Harry Maguire, who is finding himself out of the team with his contract running down.
“Harry’s never let Manchester United down,” Pallister told Football Presse. “I know he had that dip in form, and he had a lot of people on his back, especially the media. He got through that crisis. He was a consummate professional.”
Pallister understands the difficult choices players face late in their careers.
“Very hard at this stage of your career to turn that kind of money down, I would suggest,” he said. “When you start thinking about retirement and what you’re going to have in your kitty to survive without football… it’s a big decision.”
He believes Maguire would leave the club with everyone’s respect if he chose to move on.
“Know what you’re gonna get from Harry,” Pallister said. “And if he was to leave, he would leave with everybody’s blessing.”
