Martin Odegaard has rejected speculation over his future at Arsenal, insisting his only focus is on delivering something historic for the club in the final weeks of the season.

The 27-year-old Norwegian, who has captained Arsenal since 2022, is understood to be one of the players who could be sold to raise funds this summer, with his contract running to 2028. Reports have linked him with interest from Inter Milan and Juventus, though sources close to the player maintain he is committed to his project at the Emirates Stadium and intends to sign a new deal.

Asked directly about the speculation, Odegaard was dismissive.

"I don't know where that's coming from," he said. "My mindset is just about doing what I can every single day to do something special. There's always going to be talk and people speculating β€” I guess that's normal in football β€” but it's not something I know anything about."

Arsenal face a defining final stretch of their season. Mikel Arteta's side are locked in a Premier League title race and preparing for a Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid, starting with the first leg at the Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday night.

A win across the two legs would send Arsenal to a final for only the second time in their history, 20 years after their defeat to Barcelona in Paris.

Odegaard, whose season has been disrupted by a recurring knee problem that limited him to just over 1,000 minutes of Premier League action, acknowledged the weight of expectation that comes with previous near-misses.

"That is always going to be there until we win," he said. "That's something we have to live with. We have to take all the experiences and the lessons. That's part of football and part of the journey."

A fourth consecutive second-place finish in the league would represent another painful outcome for a club that has waited 22 years for a title. Odegaard, for now, is focused entirely on ensuring it does not happen again.
