The 24-year-old has emerged as a potential target for Forest after attracting attention during the summer transfer window, and his latest comments suggest a move to England remains an option.
“The Premier League is the best league in the world,” Brown said at this week's Champions League press conference.
“I am English, and I always follow developments closely. You never know what might happen in the future if the right club and the right moment come along.”
Forest have continued to monitor the defender, having previously explored a deal before he joined Fenerbahçe. Reports from Türkiye indicated that the English club made an offer of €16 million in May, but Fenerbahçe rejected it and sought €18 million instead.
Sunderland subsequently entered the picture, while Chelsea and Manchester United were also linked with the player. Brown ultimately remained in Türkiye, where he has continued to develop his reputation with strong performances at left-back.
More recently, reports have suggested Nottingham Forest are considering a fresh approach when the transfer window opens. However, Fenerbahçe are now reportedly seeking around €30 million and have no intention of selling during the January window.
That valuation would represent a significant increase on the figures discussed earlier in the year, making negotiations more difficult for Forest. The Turkish club are under no immediate pressure to sell, while Brown’s contract and his performances give them leverage.
Brown’s willingness to consider England does not mean he is pushing for an exit, and he has not identified Forest as his preferred destination. His comments simply leave open the possibility of a future move if the right opportunity emerges.
The full-back has previously played in Switzerland and Belgium before moving to Türkiye, and a Premier League transfer would represent another step in his career. His performances have also brought him closer to the conversation around England selection.
Forest will need to decide whether to pursue their interest and meet Fenerbahçe’s valuation. For now, Brown’s comments provide encouragement, but there is no confirmed bid or agreement between the clubs.
