The immediate priority is extending the contracts of Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic, two players the club considers central to the next stage of its project. The aim is to reach agreements with both before Christmas and provide greater stability ahead of the second half of the season.
Rabiot has received a particularly strong endorsement from Amorim, with the Milan coach praising the France international’s professionalism, tactical importance and leadership.
The midfielder is currently contracted until 2028 and has a unilateral option for another season. Milan nevertheless want to open discussions over a new deal that would take his contract through to 2031.
The proposal would maintain his current net salary of €5 million per season, reflecting the importance the club places on the 31-year-old.
Pulisic’s situation has developed in a similar direction. Only a few weeks ago, a renewal appeared some distance away, but recent comments from the United States international have helped reopen discussions.
His performances, including his recent display against Lecce, have also strengthened Milan’s desire to keep him. His current contract expires in June 2027 and contains a club option for an additional season, but the club wants to go further with a new agreement running until 2031.
AC Milan are also considering how to improve Amorim’s attacking options in January, with Endrick remaining high on their list.
The 20-year-old Brazilian forward belongs to Real Madrid but has struggled for regular opportunities under José Mourinho. He has played only four minutes this season, against Elche, following an injury earlier in the campaign.
Real Madrid’s attacking hierarchy remains difficult for Endrick to break into. Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappé remain ahead of him, while Brahim Díaz and Diomande provide further competition for attacking places.
That situation could encourage Endrick to seek more regular football elsewhere, and Milan are interested in providing him with that opportunity.
The proposed formula is a straightforward six-month loan covering the second half of the season. Milan would therefore give Endrick the chance to play regularly without requiring a permanent commitment.
The potential move is helped by the relationship between Milan owner Gerry Cardinale and Roc Nation, the agency representing Endrick.
For Amorim, the Brazilian would offer another attacking option at a time when Milan are looking to strengthen the squad. The club’s approach is therefore focused on both sides of the market: protecting established players who form part of the project while adding young talent capable of changing the team’s options.
Rabiot and Pulisic represent the first priority. Milan want both tied down long term, with 2031 the proposed end point for their new contracts.
Endrick represents the more immediate recruitment opportunity. His lack of playing time at Real Madrid could make a temporary move attractive to all parties, although Milan still need to reach an agreement over the loan.
The three cases underline the direction of the Milan project under Amorim: retain players regarded as pillars while creating room for new attacking talent to develop.
