Milan and Juventus circle as Lewandowski weighs up Barcelona's renewal offer

Robert Lewandowski has a contract renewal offer from Barcelona on the table β€” but the Polish striker is in no rush to sign it, with AC Milan, Juventus and several other clubs all competing for his signature.

According to Mundo Deportivo, agent Pini Zahavi met with Barcelona representatives to learn the details of the club's proposal. It is a one-year extension, running until the summer of 2027, and comes with a significant salary reduction β€” reports suggest his wages would be cut by close to half from his current earnings of around €30 million per season.

Barcelona's position is shaped by two realities. The club is actively searching for a new long-term number nine this summer, and Lewandowski will turn 38 in August. The offer reflects his likely shift to a supporting role rather than first-choice starter.

That, according to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, is part of the problem. Lewandowski has been frustrated at times this season by a reduced role under Hansi Flick, with Ferran Torres often preferred up front. The striker wants to remain a meaningful presence β€” not a squad option.

Milan have moved quickly to test the water. The Rossoneri have already held talks with his entourage and are reportedly willing to offer a two-year deal and a more prominent position, something Barcelona's proposal does not currently guarantee.

Juventus have also made an approach. Former France striker David Trezeguet added public weight to that link recently, telling Gazzetta dello Sport he would sign Lewandowski on a free transfer without hesitation β€” calling him one of the last true number nines in world football alongside Erling Haaland.

Chicago Fire and clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also registered interest, though Lewandowski is said to be focused on remaining in Europe.

His decision is expected before the end of the month. Barcelona remain in the picture but, for the first time in his three years at the club, they are no longer the obvious destination.
