The visit was supposed to focus on Rodríguez, but Emeka emerged as the unexpected name to attract the Milan scout's attention.
The trip took place on 12 September, when Granada drew 1-1 with Albacete in the Segunda División. Dylan Rodríguez, the 19-year-old midfielder originally being assessed, remained on the bench throughout, while Emeka came away from the match with Milan's interest.
Gazzetta.it reported that Emeka, a 17-year-old right winger of Spanish-Nigerian background, has been followed by the Rossoneri since that appearance. Real Madrid have also taken an interest, while Granada have tied the teenager to a contract running until 2031 and his release clause is reported at €15 million.
Emeka has risen through Granada's academy and stepped into the first-team picture this season. He has already made six appearances, including three starts, and scored his first senior goal against Albacete after beating two defenders before finishing at the near post.
That goal made him Granada's second-youngest scorer, at 17 years, four months and 23 days. He also struck the crossbar against Leganés and has since been called up by Spain Under-18s.
His emergence gives Milan another young attacking profile to consider, although Gazzetta reports that there is no advanced negotiation at present. The club's reported plan, should it eventually sign Emeka, would be to develop him with the second team before considering a move into the senior squad.
Rodríguez remains relevant to the original scouting mission. The left-footed central midfielder joined Granada last year and can operate as a mezzala, attacking midfielder or, when required, on the left wing.
LaLiga records Rodríguez as having made one senior appearance this season for 24 minutes, while Granada have extended his contract to June 2028. The midfielder's development is therefore being assessed alongside the more immediate first-team impact made by Emeka.
For AC Milan, the Granada trip has produced two names rather than one. Emeka was the unexpected discovery, while Rodríguez remains the player who initially prompted the scouting visit. The pair are now being assessed as separate young prospects by the Rossoneri.
