Kylian Mbappé has declined to encourage France team-mate Michael Olise to leave Bayern Munich, even as Real Madrid's own interest in the winger persists.
Bayern paid Crystal Palace around £51 million for Olise in the summer of 2024, and he signed a contract running to 2029 with no release clause, having gone on to attract admirers including Liverpool, who see him as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah, and Madrid itself.
Reports emerged last week that Liverpool have renewed their interest and opened discussions with Bayern over a possible move next summer, with the English club reportedly willing to include players in any offer, among them Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Rio Ngumoha. Bayern have made clear Olise is not for sale.
Mbappé, though, made his own feelings plain when asked about the speculation, saying it would be unfair to Bayern to encourage a player they consider central to their plans.
He said, "I think it's disrespectful to advise a player to leave. It would be unfair to Bayern, especially since Bayern are a big club where Michael can achieve great things."
Mbappé did not hide his admiration for Olise, whom he plays alongside for France:
"One thing is certain: every club in the world wants to sign Michael Olise. He's an exceptional player."
