Leny Yoro says he will not put extra pressure on himself after making his first start for France against Belgium as he establishes himself with the national team.

The Manchester United defender delivered a convincing performance in his first start for Les Bleus, having previously made his senior international debut.

Yoro was asked about the pressure that comes with playing for France and being expected to establish himself at international level.

The 20-year-old believes pressure is already an unavoidable part of professional football and sees no reason to create additional expectations for himself.

“Honestly, I think we all have pressure every day when we do this job,” Yoro said.

“But you just have to play your matches, you just have to try to play for your club, do the right things and it will come naturally.”

The former Lille defender added: “I don't think you need to put extra pressure on yourself. You just have to play your game and be ready.”

Yoro has quickly established himself as one of the most highly rated young defenders in French football since moving to Manchester United from Lille.

His first start for France provided another opportunity to demonstrate his progress at the highest level, and his composed display against Belgium will strengthen his case for further involvement with Didier Deschamps' side.

The defender is also facing growing expectations at club level after his move to Old Trafford, but his comments suggest he intends to deal with those demands by concentrating on his performances rather than the attention surrounding them.

For Yoro, the priority is therefore straightforward: continue performing for Manchester United, take his opportunities with France and allow his development to progress naturally.
