Goalkeeper Will Murdock has signed his second professional contract with the club, while Heath and Plunkett have put pen to paper on their maiden professional terms. Heath was part of the senior group that travelled to Ireland during pre-season and, like Murdock, is now part of United's Under-21s squad.
Murdock, a Northern Ireland Under-19 international, played in a 4-1 win over Leicester City in Premier League 2 recently and was a regular in goal for the Under-21s last season, including in the play-off final defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion. He was also part of the senior squad that travelled on United's pre-season tour of the United States in the summer of 2025.
Plunkett made 12 appearances for United's Under-18s in the 2025-26 season. The 18-year-old joined United's academy from Aston Villa's youth setup and is a full international for Jamaica, having earned recognition at senior level despite his age.
The new deals continue United's policy of rewarding academy graduates who progress through the club's youth ranks, with all three players now committed to futures at Old Trafford as they continue working toward first-team opportunities under Michael Carrick.
Heath has represented United's youth sides at various age groups after coming through the club's academy system, and his involvement in this summer's senior pre-season tour of Ireland marked a significant step in his development. Murdock's involvement with the senior squad in the United States last year similarly reflects the trust United's coaching staff have placed in him, even as he continues to feature primarily for the Under-21s.
Plunkett's international recognition with Jamaica at such a young age is a notable achievement, coming after his move from Aston Villa's academy.
His versatility and progress through United's Under-18s set-up have made him one of the more promising defensive prospects in the club's youth ranks, and the club will hope his development continues on an upward trajectory following this new deal. Left-back is his primary position, and he has impressed Manchester United's coaching staff since first arriving on trial before completing a permanent move.
