Leônidas, Daniel David and Lyan are due to arrive in Manchester on November 29 and remain until December 14, taking part in training sessions and experiencing the facilities and working methods at Manchester City.
All three have already represented Brazil at youth international level, making the visit an opportunity to experience a different footballing environment rather than an introduction to elite academy football.
The trip is part of the relationship between Bahia and Manchester City through the City Football Group. It is not a trial or an indication that City are preparing to sign any of the players.
Leônidas is a centre-back who received a Brazil Under-15 call-up in 2025. Forward Daniel David was also selected at Under-15 level last year before progressing to the Under-16s in 2026.
Lyan, another attacking player, has been involved with Brazil’s Under-17 squad this year. He was part of the group for the South American Championship, where he served as back-up to Kauê Furquim.
Bahia academy director Marcelo Teixeira believes the experience will benefit the three players both on and off the pitch.
“This exchange is an important opportunity for the development of the three players,” he said.
“They’ll get to experience Manchester City’s academy routine up close, train in a different environment, experience a new culture and language, and return with experiences that contribute to their growth, both as people and as footballers.
“It’s an opportunity that Bahia’s integration into the City Football Group offers our young players.”
The programme gives Bahia's prospects the chance to see how an academy operates in England, while allowing them to experience different coaching methods and the demands of training in another country. They will then take those lessons back to Brazil.
It is not the first time Bahia youngsters have been given the opportunity to train within the City Football Group. Roger Gabriel visited City and Girona in 2023, before Ruan Pablo travelled to Manchester the following year. Sidney also spent time in Belgium with Lommel SK.
More recently, Jonathan Marinho and Ruan Victor took part in training activities with City's Under-18s in April.
The latest exchange continues that pathway, with Leônidas, Daniel David and Lyan the next Bahia academy players to experience the group's European facilities.
City's wider Brazilian recruitment history includes senior signings such as Gabriel Jesus, Douglas Luiz, Yan Couto, Kayky and Vitor Reis, although those moves were separate from the academy exchange programme.
For now, the focus is on development rather than transfers. The three teenagers will spend a fortnight in Manchester, gaining experience of a different football culture before returning to Bahia.
