Manchester City have moved to secure the future of Tyrone Samba, with the academy forward signing a contract extension that commits him to the club until 2030.

The new deal represents another step in the 18-year-old’s development at the Etihad Stadium. Samba signed his first professional contract last summer after progressing through City’s youth system, and he has since continued to gain experience with the club’s younger sides.

His progress was particularly evident during the 2025/26 campaign. Samba played an important role for City’s Under-18s, contributing seven goals and seven assists in the league as they enjoyed a successful season. He also registered three goal involvements in six FA Youth Cup appearances.

Manchester City went on to win the FA Youth Cup, beating Manchester United 2-1 in the final. Samba was part of the squad that helped secure the trophy, further strengthening his credentials as one of the club’s promising young attacking players.

The forward has also begun to make his presence felt at Under-21 level. He scored in City’s 4-0 Premier League 2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in August, demonstrating his ability to contribute as he takes on the demands of football against older opponents.

That transition is an important part of the pathway for City’s academy players, with the Elite Development Squad providing a bridge between youth football and the senior set-up.

Samba’s contract extension gives him a longer period in which to pursue that progression. At 18, he still has significant development ahead of him, but his performances across the Under-18s and Under-21s have provided a solid foundation.

City have continued to invest in young players who can progress through their academy, and Samba’s new agreement ensures the club retains control of his future while he works towards the next stage of his career.

The deal runs until 2030, giving the forward a clear opportunity to build on his recent achievements and establish himself more firmly within the club’s development structure.
