"I don't want to talk about it. I'm here with the national team. I have already spoken about Napoli."
The comment referenced an earlier statement in which Lukaku addressed claims that he had fallen out with the club and with former head coach Antonio Conte over the handling of his injury and his decision to prioritise his World Cup preparation over completing Napoli's season.
In that previous statement, Lukaku had been notably conciliatory.
"My relationship with Napoli is calm. There is not a single problem. Everyone understands why I did what I did. My love for Napoli remains unchanged. I have one more year of contract — in my mind, I am a Napoli player. If people think I wanted to use this situation as an opportunity to move, they are wrong. I had an injury and I got treatment. Napoli have confirmed the permanent signing of Rasmus Højlund from Manchester United — a move that raises questions about Lukaku's role in Massimiliano Allegri's plans next season given that both are natural centre-forwards.
