The 18-year-old has made an encouraging impression since joining Liverpool from Chelsea in 2024. His growing involvement has increased the focus on his future, although Ngumoha has left the negotiations to his representatives.
Speaking after Liverpool’s comeback win at Brentford, he offered a brief update on the situation.
“To be fair (the contract) is all with my agent now. I think it is all going well. I am not too sure.
“I just let the football do the talking at the end of the day, so I enjoy playing and all of that stuff is in the back of my mind really. I just play for the club, play for Liverpool and hopefully I can carry on doing well.”
Ngumoha has also been gaining experience with England, where he has been able to train alongside established wingers Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon. He believes observing their work and listening to their advice can help him improve.
“Playing on the right (wing) was good for England but also watching the likes of Anthony Gordon, Bukayo Saka… they are top, top wingers.
“Training with them every day and just seeing what they do, that can really help me and I take some of the stuff they tell me on board and it is really helpful,” he said.
The youngster is also learning to operate on either flank as Liverpool look for greater flexibility from their wide players. Ngumoha believes being comfortable on both sides can make him harder for defenders to predict.
“(Playing on both sides) gives me a bit of unpredictability, so if teams see me playing, they might think I am on the left but I can offer something different on the right.
“So it is good, I think at a young age, being able to play off the right or the opposite side and be unpredictable, I think that is something that is really key and I am enjoying it. It is good.”
Ngumoha also thanked head coach Andoni Iraola for trusting him with opportunities, whether in the starting line-up or from the bench.
“I can't thank the gaffer much more really for putting me on so early in the game and like I said, whether I start or if I come on, I just have the same mentality.”
His latest appearance came during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory at Brentford, where injuries to Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong added to the post-match concerns. Both players were reported to be facing scans.
For Ngumoha, the immediate aim is to maintain his progress, learn from experienced teammates and continue making the most of his chances. Contract talks remain ongoing, but he has made clear that performances are his priority.
